Until later - take care now, and keep those needles poised...

Update* Peacock SAL

Peacock SAL hosted by Manka -http://mankamintai.blogspot.hu/

Another peacock and flower motif stitched... Whether I intended too or not I am using more and more of the variegated thread... I have now worked right across the width of the design so I will be interested to see what the next row of motifs will look like and how the variegated thread will balance out the dark peacock green as more and more of it is stitched

I am so glad that my week off 'keeping company' with the flu, coughing and feeling like death warmed up, hasn't been a complete waste...

Until later, take care and keep away from the coughs and colds...

Warning - photo may offend...

Nothing to do with stitching - but - I had to show it to you... I think it must have been the brain child of some clever marketing type pebbles who thought that they could 'sell' it to all those out there who are mad enthusiastic enough to want to have Christmas in July... Lordy, I've barely enough sanity to do Christmas once a year let alone twice...

But I wonder if they will disappear off the shelf once July flows into August or will they just 'hang around' until the end of January 2014. No wonder we are all slightly off kilter about  time and place when you walk into the local supermarket and are confronted by a stack (literally) of mince pies. I mentally had to stop and think 'now what month ARE we in?' Lol - I didn't think to look for any Christmas puddings...

Until later, take care and keep those needles threaded - after all we are only 175 days or  25 weeks to Christmas!!!!!!

And then there were two...

After much frustration of stitching then 'unstitching' I have re thought my original idea about my Peacock SAL. I have decided to continue with the same dark peacock green thread  but stitching some of the non peacock motifs  in the variegated thread of the border. I believe by doing this - it will balance the piece... And so on we go...

Until later, take care and keep those needles threaded...

A Quiet Place to Meander

Please welcome a new kid on the blogging block - A Quiet Place to Meander . 'I' creates magic with her needle and thread. I have been fortunate to see her work 'up close' and it is truly inspirational... I am looking forward to seeing lots of her work featured here...

Enough from me... I'm standing in the doorway of the weekend and from this point the 'view' looks wonderful...

Take care,

More wool...

I had a $50 gift voucher for the local wool shop. I needed to spend it quickly as it had gone over its expiry date. This is what I chose. Just perfect for a very brisk winter's day in Melbourne. The hat isn't me - but the scarf is definitely a contender for Winter 2014... Because of my voucher the whole project - pattern, wool, and needles cost be $4.50. A very cheap scarf!!!!!

Until next time, take care and keep those needles busy...

Le Jardin Daisy stitching and a Summer Solstice on a Winter's day...

Le Jardin - Block 2 - Daisy
...today I finished the second block in the Le Jardin quilt. I settled down and caught up an an old movie and stitched away while the rain pattered on the roof... That would be bliss with a capital B...

Now to add a  peacock or two to my Peacock SAL...

Until later, take care...
